Armand N. Spitz (1904-1971). He held different positions at the Franklin Institute-Fels Planetarium.

Hand-made prototype in 1946, first official presentation at the Harvard Observatory and founded Spitz Laboratory in 1947. Spitz A for $500.

- 1949: Woodland Avenue, Philadelphia.

- 1953: Elkton, Maryland.

- 1955: Yorklyn, Delaware.

- 1969: Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania (new owner McGraw Hill).

Model A

According to Owen Phairis, Spitz under contract from NASA was built some prototypes.
